MMGA | Grounding plug

The best grounding system for a music system is useless if you can't connect it perfectly to the home earth. Developing a proper high-end grounding plug became a necessity. That is why there is the MMGA grounding plug to connect the grounding in the shape of a star — e.g. via GroundBox [Ge.2] - from our Composant S equipment bases or connect the audio components to the home stove. However, the house soil also poses a risk to the sound of the music system. The house stove is loaded by the electric field of the current-carrying 230V line. In addition, there are RF disturbances that are at ground potential. Grounding is not a one-way street. By connecting the system to the house earth, the two are coupled together, which can result in the interference currents also entering the system from the ground.

The previous solution for some grounding tools in the work area is a 1mOhm resistor in the grounding plugs. Unfortunately, this is not an acceptable solution for the audio sector, as this again creates a traffic jam of the potential currents to be carried out. The MMGA connector solves the problem of RF interference due to the mineral filter used in our Vividus. Recurrent interference is thus filtered and makes further noise disappear from the sound image, which further increases the inner peace of the musical performance.

As can be seen in the pictures, our MMGA connector has a 4mm banana socket. For grounding up to eight device bases or audio components, the perfect partner is our GroundBox [Gen.2]. All necessary premium grounding cable are available from us. With the MMGA connector, we complete our highly efficient grounding system.

‍A little tip: Simply plugging an MMGA connector into a Distribution panel already has a clearly audible effect on the cleanliness of the signal. You don't even have to connect a grounding cable to do this. The MMGA grounding plug also develops a passive filter effect on the grounding. Through the ebony pins, the resonant coupling frequency acts on the current, which has a harmonizing effect.

Why use an extra high-end earthing plug?

Grounding the audio system is just as important as power and signal cabling. When components are grounded, grounding is never always functional in just one direction. The MMGA grounding plug ensures that RF interference on the ground conductor is drastically reduced. This means that they do not come from PE (domestic soil) to the audio system.

Can you also use the MMGA if you don't want to ground your system?

This is a special feature of the MMGA connector. It also serves as a passive parallel filter on the earth conductor. This reduces the RF load on the system, which otherwise reaches the devices via the power cables (protective conductor PE).

Why are the two pins of the Schuko plug made of ebony?

Since the pins are important for the stability and secure fit of the plug, we have made a virtue out of this necessity. With ebony, we control the resonance frequency of the socket pliers in a harmonic spectrum. It is just this one pair of pliers but you can clearly hear the effect.
