Acoustic Grove System

Room acoustics like in a forest? Optimally implemented with diffusers from Acoustic Groove System from Japan. AGS elements simply switch off secondary sound sources through reflections.

AGS | Acousic Grove System

The principle of diffusion is closer to us than absorption. Using the Acoustic Grove System room acoustic elements, the direct sound is not only broken up, but also extinguished depending on the frequency. At AGS, the forest principle works. The sound is completely broken up due to the differently arranged diameters and is distributed instead of moving to the listening area. The AGS elements act on the reproduced music with a clear opening of the sound image. Depending on the position, which should be evaluated individually, you get a stage presentation that also extends to the center level behind the loudspeakers. The stage is therefore not just a semicircle, but a space with corners and edges. What is most important, however, is the accuracy with which the actors are in virtual space. The precision increases significantly, which again makes the traceability of the recording room — if available — realistically comprehensible. The big advantage: There are no negative frequency absorptions, as is known from conventional absorbers. An absorber is only ever able to operate a specific frequency band. But this is also how you reduce the”information“the music in this area, which causes discoloration of the timbres. For this reason, we recommend AGS | Acoustic Grove System from Japan and currently offer two of these exceptional models.

AGS - MN1

The AGS-MN1 has a very compact design. It can be used in addition to FS1 or independently as an independent element. A very effective placement is centrally between the speakers, e.g. at the top of the rack, on the back wall or simply on the floor. Several elements, including on the side or behind the auditorium, reinforce the effect.

AGS - FS1

The AGS-FS1 consists of a group of wooden columns arranged in a compact configuration. The sound field in the room is very effectively improved by placing just one or two units. The FS1 usually comes in a set of 2 with left and right orientation. Very effective placements are diagonally behind the loudspeakers, laterally at the reflection points between loudspeakers and the listening area and/or diagonally behind the listening station. It is very effective both in rooms that are too steamed and in rooms that are too loud.

AGS - FL-1

The AGS-FL1 is very effective when placed in front of loudspeakers, especially on smooth floors, such as parquet, tiles, etc. It reduces intensive initial reflections with the floor and provides a clearer sound. The dynamism contained in the music source is also significantly increasing. The FL1 is often the first choice for getting a grip on too powerful and undifferentiated bass response and thus taking the entire system to a new level!

Dimensions: 60 (W) × 60 (D) × 12 (H) cm, weight: 8 kg

AGS - ST1

AGS-ST1 is designed to be placed along a wall or other flat surface and is easy to arrange vertically or horizontally with other AGS-ST1's. Simply placing an AGS-ST1 product along the front wall between speakers increases sound clarity and a sense of depth.

Dimensions: 60 (W) × 23 (D) × 120 (H) cm, weight: 34 kg

What is so special about AGS diffusers?

These diffusers have a calculated arrangement of defined diameters. Sound that hits it is broken up like light in a prism. The result is acoustics close to a forest experience.

What principle do AGS elements work on?

The principle of defined diffusion is used.

Is the effect described measurable?

Of course, the manufacturer in Japan shows the results of the measurements on its homepage. Here it is easy to understand that when the sound hits the AGS elements, it is no longer reflected.

What is the advantage of AGS over the absorption of sound?

With the absorption principle, only a narrow range of frequencies can be absorbed at a time, because the foams used can only absorb energy in a limited range. This creates a room that sounds acoustically reduced. The AGS diffuser technology breaks up sound energy and prevents secondary reflections (room walls). As a result, primary sound waves come to the listening station, which are emitted directly from the loudspeaker. The result is a much more accurate location of musicians and instruments.
