Ingo Born, Echo LS

Hello Mr. Schlipper,

First of all, I wish you a Merry Christmas. Had a visit from friends the day before yesterday, because nothing works without help with the subwoofer, it is unfortunately a bit cumbersome. Single handedly more like chess matt!! So now I've had the opportunity to share my first impressions with you. At first, you are startled by the clarity and directness of both the Front LS and the subwoofer. The bass is very reduced, that's the first impression. I think that will happen over time, because the ear has become accustomed to the sound and this old sound is now a reference. From today's perspective, it is slimmer and faster with the base under the sub, maybe I'm missing the slight roar? It feels like we're heading in the right direction. A change of perspective is certainly necessary to classify the new sound image. I was ready for that. Otherwise, you wouldn't choose this step either. If you don't want to change anything, you'd better leave it alone. I wanted and want the change. The instruments and voices are much more clearly defined and are firmly in the position set by the recording manager. Impressive!! I already knew it from the “loan.” Although I found the loan to be “rounder” in the sound image, it could also be due to the combination with the sub, I didn't have that base. I left out the sandbox under the sub. Overall, it looks “louder” and “faster” at the same volume level, much faster than before, pitch control plus 10%! The basic tone range is also somewhat reduced, I'm curious to see how it develops over the days.

The good thing is that the LS & Sub. are so fast that you could - if you want - reduce drive and spikes. It doesn't work the other way around, it reassures me. I'll just let the whole thing work for a good 10 days to be able to draw a conclusion. Wish you a happy new year.

ADDITION

Hello Mr. Schlipper, I wish you all the best and every success for the new year.

Now I had enough time to listen to the “sub-bases.” It is indeed the case that the sound image is changing very positively. The distance between the loudspeakers had to be changed to reveal the actual secret. I could now list long “sound descriptions” that you have certainly all “heard” yourself or heard from your customers. I want to focus on one perception, the “emotion,” it's been a long, very long time since I've had goosebumps when I “heard.” Now it was that time again - “Ella Fitzgerald - Live in Berlin”, an old record - a wonderful experience. A reward for yourself and confirmation of the hobby, which certainly not everyone can understand. I can't and don't want to tell you more about their sub-bases & ebonies. Congratulations on your product! If you want and are in the area (near Mainz/Wiesbaden), you are cordially invited. It's not just written that way, it's honestly meant that way.

Best regards
