Hello and merry Christmas later Mr. Schlipper,... what lasts a long time... will finally be good!
Since Christmas, I've been using the Tidal Piano Cera on Echo bases. The conversion of the feet and the replacement of the trusses was easy. Only the wooden inserts were partly pressed and partly loose. But once the loudspeakers are stopped, nothing wobbles. I have measured the position of the loudspeakers in the room with a laser and left unchanged. After a few days of recording and listening, I would like to draw the following initial conclusion.
The changes compared to the previous situation were clearly in the right direction. The sound looks detoxified in a pleasant way and the localization is definitely improved once again. In particular, the bass is more precise and the tendency to stimulate room modes at high volumes is significantly lower. As a result of this elimination of parasitic vibrations, the volume control always has to be turned up a little more for the same volume than before, but this is not annoying, as the entire sound appears a bit “clearer”. In the case of “pink noise”, I was able to determine that an even more linear frequency response was the result of the echo bases. A slight bass increase has largely disappeared or is only present in the room mode of 32Hz. Even a previously noticeable sharp sink at 80Hz has almost been leveled out. Overall, I can give your bases a very good report card. For now, I will continue listening to music and wish you a happy new year in advance.
