Klaus M., Echo LS

Dear Thomas, as promised, you will now also receive my report on my experiences with the Subbase écho LS. Before I go into the actual sound description, however, I would like to briefly present my thoughts about working with the subbase écho LS. If you spend a long time on the subject of hi-fi and high-end, at some point you will inevitably get to the point or the question of how to best set up your components. For amplifiers, CD players and analog drives, there have been numerous approaches and philosophies for several years, some of which differ significantly. However, there is agreement on one point: A component should NEVER simply be placed on the floor — whether carpet, parquet, tiles, etc...! This principle is familiar to all hifi virus infections and yet it is regularly completely neglected when installing loudspeakers. Of course, there are also many different loudspeaker “feet”, from simple spikes to more or less “exotic” products, but I would still not place my CD player or power amplifier on the ground with spikes. From these points of view, it is only logical that loudspeakers also deserve an adequate set-up and also demand an adequate setup in order to be able to reveal their full potential. The fact that this theory cannot be completely absurd is impressively substantiated when you place the Subbase écho LS under your own loudspeakers for the first time. That's when you drop your chin for now (at least that's how it was for me) because you think you've risen one step in all components of the system. For me, the sound gain is primarily characterized by unexpected detachment, tonal substance and “self-evident musical interpretation,” which was previously unimaginable. Without having experienced this comparison, it is very difficult to describe what these bases do in a hi-fi system. In my eyes (and ears), they create something very special, as not (only) the usual merits such as more resolution, tighter bass, etc. are fulfilled almost incidentally, but also contribute significantly to an increased and more intensive musical experience. For me, these bases primarily appeal to my heart and that's what music is all about. If you keep in mind what you can spend on cables, resonators or other hi-fi accessories, the Subbase écho LS are inexpensive in the best sense of the word, because the sound gain is clearly positive, clearly perceptible and clear.Greetings, Klaus M.
