Shambala TSS protects Accuphase

Hello Mr. Schlipper,

For several years I've been looking for a new HIFI rack that could make my devices look better. I was satisfied with the sound of my system/ rack so far. While browsing the Internet, I noticed the visually very appealing Shambala TSS from Subbase Audio. After further research on the Subbase audio page, I read the very detailed test on Fidelity-Online.de and my interest was sparked.

After I had made a sketch of the Shambala TSS on a scale of 1:10, in the dimensions I needed and marked my devices accordingly, the decision was made to start an enquiry with Subbase Audio/Thomas Schlipper. Here I was able to express my wishes and ideas in a very pleasant conversation, various options for the Shambala variants and learn a lot about the Subbase audio philosophy. After sending the Shambala configurator by email, which was very easy to use and I was able to enter my desired rack dimensions, I promptly received a detailed offer, as well as the sample variants I wanted to select the veneer. Here I was able to calmly choose the right real wood veneer to match my appliances and the living room ambiance.

After a production period of approx. 8 weeks, the Shambala TSS was delivered. What immediately struck me was the fine workmanship in look and feel, the polished applications, the acrylic side panels, the fine Shambala engravings and the beautifully paired Grey Maser veneer.
The cloth gloves I used when setting up the Shambala glided across the wood surface with unprecedented ease. Overall, Shambala TSS is incredibly elegant and crafted with the finest professional craftsmanship, which has exceeded my already high expectations.

Now to my sound impressions: Initially, the sound was somewhat muted and slow, which is probably also due to the HIFI components and their cabling, which were completely dismantled over a long period of time. Thomas Schlipper had also told me upon delivery that the new rack would have to acclimatize for a few hours upon start-up. After 4-5 hours, the sound of the Shambala TSS and the HIFI chain had significantly improved, I had the impression that the music was playing with a better spatial presentation and with more air between the instruments/performers, as well as a better bass outline. After listening to music for more hours, I noticed that the music was playing with a blacker, quieter background and that the voices as well as acoustic instruments sounded more natural, even more analog, without me being able to notice deficiencies in resolution anywhere.

Conclusion: Visually/in terms of workmanship and sound, the “new” is the significantly better HIFI rack/ rest area in all respects.

Best regards,

Peter W. from N.
